How is it Done?
Step 1

Your flight on the Skycoaster begins at the Extreme World ticket booth where you and your group purchase your flight on the Skycoaster.

Step 2

Upon entry into the "harness area", you and your party will be individually fitted with a flight suit. Upon fitting, one of our flight suit staff members will help your party determine who will pull the ripcord. Pulling of the ripcord is one of the most exciting aspects of the Skycoaster®. The ripcord is the mechanism from which you are released from the 100-foot launch tower. For safety reasons, we'll ask you to remove all gum, mints, etc… from your mouth. We'll also request that you remove any loose objects or large key rings from your pocket.

Step 3

When it's your time to fly, our expediter will direct you to the flight boarding platform. From here, you will be in the hands of our controller and assistant controller.

Step 4

After ascending the flight boarding platform, the assistant controller will align your party in the correct order and attach the flight carabiners to the flight harnesses. After a successful connection you will hear "carabiners locked" from the assistant controller.

Step 5

Next our flight controller will instruct you to drop your footbar and will help you into the prone (horizontal) flight position.

Step 6

Once in the prone position, the controller and assistant controller will connect the remaining hardware and finalize their checks.

Step 7

Next the flight boarding platform is rolled back and your ascent to the launch tower begins.

Step 8

Once you reach the top of the flight tower, the controller and assistant controller will make their final checks and give the "thumbs-up" for flight.

Step 9

The countdown begins. 3-2-1 Fly! On fly, the rightmost member of your party will pull the ripcord and your freefall descent begins. As the cables begin to take tension you are constantly accelerating. Upon reaching the bottom of the arch you are traveling 60-65 mph six feet off of the ground!

Step 10

As quick as you've returned back to earth, you immediately begin your ascent back upwards. Reaching the top of the arch, your stomach drops as you began another freefall, this time backwards!

Step 11

After gravity has taken it's course and your flight slows, the assistant controller will assist your party in landing with our landing pole.

Step 12

Upon a safe landing, the flight boarding platform is rolled back into place. The assistant controller will assist you in standing up and safely disembarking from the flight boarding platform.

Step 13

The flight suit staff member will remove your suit and will provide instructions on where to view a videotape of your flight on the Skycoaster where you can optionally purchase it.
